A '90s fast food themed gaming sandbox

What began as a nostalgic Blender model quickly evolved into a fully playable Unity environment — a love letter to the golden era of Nintendo 64 aesthetics, complete with 60 FPS performance, cross-platform support, and that unmistakable late-90s vibe.

The concept is a nostalgic classic fast-food joint in its heyday, matching the aesthetic, atmosphere, and color palette of that era. It was designed and developed for use as a public lobby in VRChat, incorporating structural building methods, interactivity, and functional elements.

The trailer uses tracking cameras to tour the main areas and highlight the custom sound effects that bring the space to life. Orbital 3D audio shifts between distinct scene areas with and ambient elements such as buzzing flies near the neon sign and showcases custom lighting creating a true liminal space.

The model balances large structural elements with finer details helping guide the viewer’s attention in a controlled space. It contains the core geometry, textures, and lighting from the project – zoom in, have a seat, or head to the upstairs party patio.

The livestream tours an early version of the model, sharing the scene, sounds, and systems, including the downstairs interior and upstairs party patio. The demo was captured on an Oculus Quest 2 and is available to explore for free using the live model below.
