Moth3R – a Retro-Futuristic Programmable Device Family
Three handheld devices designed as a modular, programmable ecosystem — part Apollo-era instrument panel, part classic Walkman, part Star Trek tricorder that got way too serious. Built for musicians, tinkerers, and anyone who thinks their creative tools should have more character than their furniture. Moth3R blends cutting-edge minimalism with warm, tactile retro soul, as part of a greater system that can be applied to various electronics and personalized gadgetry.
Material storytelling was the core design challenge. Soft-touch matte ABS on the white housings. Military-grade textured black touchpads with subtle orange edge illumination. Oversized, rubbery buttons that beg to be pressed. Emissive materials on screens, LEDs, and button rings create that signature warm orange bleed — giving every render depth and atmosphere without a single post-process effect.
Wear marks were added only on high-contact areas. The goal: "well-loved by astronauts" — not beat up. Premium, purposeful, and slightly obsessive about the details. Fully modeled, shaded, and lit in Blender.
The result is a cohesive family of objects that feel both nostalgic and future-ready — perfect as a desk companion, portable creative tool, or collectible set. Applied Design System
Where Apollo-era flight meets the raw pulse of the dance floor, the modular Orbital Command DJ Decks emerge as the next evolution in the 'Moth3R' programmable device family. Space-Grade modular DJ consoles modeled after the Pioneer XDJ-700 and designed as a fully buildable, expandable system, slotting seamlessly into the ecosystem. Every button, fader, and illuminated indicator invites physical interaction and customization. The Orbital Command DJ Decks continue the retro-minimalist tradition telling stories of adventure, exploration, and personality — bleeding that signature orange glow that warms the void.
